The LPDA-A0098 is a high powered directional log-periodic dipole array designed for EW applications. It covers the 20 to 100 MHz, at 1 kW of power, with 6 dBi gain, or a 80° to 100° H-plane beamwidth. The polarisation is adjustable between vertical and horizontal without lowering the mast. The antenna is constructed using a collapsible wire technology. This makes the antenna lightweight and allows for compact storage, quick, easy deployment and mounting. All antenna elements are permanently attached to the boom, to prevent any parts from becoming lost in the field. Tension is maintained in the elements of the antenna by means of a non-conducting tensions system that is deployed at the back of the antenna. The tension system folds away next to the boom of the antenna during stowage.
